Brady’s Drug Store is hiring a full-time pharmacist
Brady’s Drug Store is looking to hire a full-time Pharmacist who has the desire to grow into the role of Pharmacist Manager over time. The successful applicant will do more than perform the basic role of a pharmacist. They will take an interest in both the business and therapeutic objectives of Brady’s Drug Store and the pharmacy team and seek to grow into leading that team. The successful candidate is also comfortable performing duties related to the expanded scope of practice for pharmacists. You should have an interest in patient-centred healthcare, be friendly and approachable, detail-oriented and accurate, able to multi-task, and possess the leadership and interpersonal skills to work effectively with the entire pharmacy team.

Pharmacist Responsibilities
- Delivers exceptional patient-centred care to meet therapeutic objectives
- Delivers exceptional customer service and effective communication with patients, staff, management and other health stakeholders, employing empathy, diplomacy, and a professional demeanor.
- Delivers BDS programs offered to the public across all stores including:
- Knowledge of and comfort with prescribing and extending prescriptions as it applies to pharmacy in Ontario
- Knowledge of and competency in administering vaccinations to patients
- Administering COVID-19 and other health testing
- Administering Methadone or other addiction-related treatments
- Conducting patient medication reviews
- And any other professional services allowable by the province of Ontario
- Adopts a continuous learning approach and undertakes self-education to remain up to date on pharmaceutical therapies, health insurance systems, and public health as it relates to pharmacy practice
- Store management & systems management – Demonstrates a knowledge of the business and pharmacy systems, company policies, dispensing procedures, Kroll, staffing, and inventory and cold chain management, pricing and merchandising, theft, cash and management best practices involved in running a Brady’s store.
- Provides leadership and a collaborative team approach to running the pharmacy, in keeping with Brady’s company vision, mission, and culture
- Applies a professional code of ethics related to confidentiality and discretion, honesty, integrity, trust, and accountability.
- Demonstrates cultural competency as it relates to dealing with patients from diverse backgrounds and identities, and employs open and inclusive language.
- Follows workplace safety practices, and understands store emergency protocols to follow.
- Willingness to take on additional duties over time related to performance management and training of technician team, and scheduling.
- Other duties as may be assigned.
Skills and requirements:
- Licensed pharmacist in good standing in the province of Ontario
- Injection certification.
- 5 years+ experience working in a retail pharmacy setting.
- Knowledge of Kroll a plus.
- Experience leading an on-duty team of 4+ staff. Experience with scheduling and financial management of the pharmacy is a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- A competent and collaborative problem solver.
- Flexible and adaptable to the changing priorities and tasks of the day and new procedures. A strong multi-tasker.
- Confident in working with automation, new technologies and software systems. Experience working with a dispensing robot is a plus.
- Able to stand for 9 hours at a time.
- Availability to work general hours of 9-6 pm Monday to Friday (Note: open to 8 pm Mondays), with commitment to working 1 to 2 weekends each month (weekend hours 9-3 pm).
