Brady’s Drug Store is proud to partner with local author LouAnne Hunt and young illustrator Maddi Martin to celebrate the release of the new children’s book, The Day Jagger Felt Brave, A Puppy Reunion Story.

The book’s charming illustrations were created by LouAnne’s talented great-niece Maddi. Several of Maddi’s illustrations will now be transformed into special line-art colouring sheets for Brady’s Drug Store’s Kids Colouring Contest.

The first book in The Adventures of Oliver & Jagger series, The Day Jagger Felt Brave is a heartwarming story about courage, family and discovering that it is okay to feel afraid. Inspired by LouAnne’s real-life Shorkie brothers, Oliver and Jagger, the story helps young readers understand that bravery does not mean never feeling scared, it means finding the courage to move forward.

Colouring sheets can be submitted to any Brady’s Drug Store for a chance to win a signed copy of the book and prize pack. Contest is for artists ages 2-12. Contest closes Friday, Oct. 9.

Families are also invited to meet LouAnne and celebrate the book at a special storytime and signing on Saturday, September 26, 2026 at Brady’s Drug Store Tilbury from 1 pm – 2:30 pm. No registration is necessary to attend the event.

The signing will take place inside Brady’s newly renovated Tilbury location – 15 Mill Street East, Tilbury, ON.

“This partnership means so much to me because Brady’s Drug Store has such strong roots in our local communities,” says Hunt. “Together, we are giving children an opportunity to be creative, have fun and discover an important message about courage. I am especially proud that Maddi’s artwork will be shared with families throughout the region.”

Brady’s Drug Store serves the communities of Essex, Belle River and Tilbury, Ontario. Its support will help bring Oliver and Jagger’s message of courage and kindness to even more children and families, says Hunt.

The Day Jagger Felt Brave is written by LouAnne Hunt, illustrated by “Maddi” Martin and published by The Mindset Playground Publishing. LouAnne Hunt has written several books but this is her first children’s book.
